Children’s Crafts: Paper Mache Lizards : Paper Mache Lizard: Drying Paint

It is important just like it was with thepaper mache to let our lizard dry.

Let the paint dry and the glue dry.

Since we useda couple of different kinds of paint.

We have the acrylic which dries pretty quickly andthen the Tempra glitter which takes a little bit longer so I think it is best to leaveit in a well ventilated area probably the same place where you left it to do the papermache drying process.

You also want to make sure that he is on a surface that can be pulledup easily.

If you put him on a newspaper to dry with this kind of paint with the acrylicpaint when you lift him up he is going to have pieces of that newspaper stuck it himand it is only going to create more of a process for going back and cleaning up and repaintingand painting over.

If you need to do a couple of coats of paint on your lizard you can dothat, let it dry, come back and then paint it over again.

You also want to make surethat if you've applied a face on your lizard that the glue is dry before hanging him ordisplaying him those sequins in the googley eye can take a little bit longer to dry.
